Description

This is the soon to be ripe autumnal store for many an animal in the valley - people included, no doubt. Along with blackberries, holly and fallen seeds, Luxulyan woods is a very good store that helps keep the wildlife going. It was paramount last year, and from the look of the number of berries already beginning to form, it looks as though this year may be a bit chilly too! I came across an unearthed mole down the valley today. So did Barney, curious creature that he is. I am very pleased to say he sniffed once, then left it be to bury itself once more. ^=^ Thank you for taking the time to look.

natures packaging can teach supermarketing a lesson in efficiency any day of the week. Very lucky to see a mole, so often you can see the evidence of them being around without spotting them in person as it were. Excellent shot after all that.

The only live moles I've ever seen are the kinds that come on human skin, so you're quite fortunate to see a live, un-burrowed one able to build a new burrow. And on the other side of that, I love this shot! The fly is such a wonderful splash of amber in so much lively green. This is superb! I'm actually looking forward to autumn in a way...sort of. I'd like a good LONG autumn and a SHORT winter followed by a LONG spring, but alas...Chicago has only one season...Winter with a hot flash! Oh well! This is a marvelous picture and I'm glad I saw it.
