When I close my eyes I can see her walking towards me in her beautiful white dress. I can see the preacher standing behind me, and all my friends and family standing before me. As two prepare to swear to become one in heart and soul from now to eternity in front of God, I can feel in my heart all the fear, nervousness, and excitement I assume all men feel. I wonder in my heart as she walks towards me if any daughter of Eve has truly understood the power they hold as the shelter to man’s heart. That she can build him up or destroy him with one word or one look. That with her standing behind him, he can accomplish anything and that without her he is like a leaf on the wind…….. I wonder in my heart if any son of Adam has truly understood the power they hold as the servant king to the queen of our heart. That with friendship, love, patience, courage, and mentorship she will grow in beauty and the traits we desire in our queen throughout our life. But with pride, selfishness, and ego he can wilt her heart and watch their dreams go up in ash as heaven turns into hell……………….. Then my mind glimpses all the examples that have come before me as a gift from God through time, and I see in my heart that Camelot is not just a myth. That with joy I can look on all the arguments and hurts that occur as two distinctly different souls learn to become one. For as the first of mankind knew in his heart before Eve that he would never be complete in heart and soul without her. So today I make this promise before God with my heart and soul that I will never forget the dream of this day. I will be a servant king to my queen without regard for anything in return. Then I can bequeath to my descendants the knowledge that I have been granted today of the beauty, wonder, and strength of the heart of Eve, and the steel and velvet of the servant king of the heart of Adam.
