Description

here is wher two office shares a room. they diff in each one but this photo was the best of all the office quartes I saw. I hope I got it right. I no sailor at all. I think I be at the rails most the time sea sick. Any way I do not know if they would had photos up on the wall like you see here. I know this is for diplay to show how life may be on the ship. I like that machine on the dest too. I do not think it a type writer. If it is i never saw one like it. Never was in the arm forces but I do like them and all. Respect of what they stand for and all.

Yeah! they would have the pictures on the bulkheads and I believe that is an adding machine on the desk. those racks (as the beds are called) are fairly comfortable and if you're not claustrophobic, these spaces are very nice

great foto, thats not a typewriter but and electric mechanical calculator, I once found one close to my school , it was thrown out of an office building that had been hit by a fire. AT home i opened it and saw it was cramfull of gears.

No privacy at all and you would have to get along with your mate wouldn't you...? Fabulous series of shots, Jock.

Great shot. Yeah, this is the typical officer stateroom of the era. I think this may actually be a three man room. For most young officers this space also served as their offices, recreation area and sleeping space.
