now you see the diff it make with flash on or useing the nature lighting as you see it. it hard to get nature lighting with the point and shoot. even a big camera you be needing a tripod and makeing sure it on the right setting. hard to do at times

This has great interest for me. I can't imagine calling one's life this small space... Changing clothes, sleeping, moving about without disturbing others... it has to be something that is learned over time or maybe you start out doing ok with it and its only have a month or so that you start to feel closed in? Excellent shot and you did very well with you flash here.

I think I could stand that for about 5 minutes and that is if no one else were in the room. Amazing stamina to live there.

Great capture. I would not do well trying to sleep like that, I wake up easily, plus I toss and turn a lot. But what would really drive the others in the room crazy is I snore so bad I sometimes wake myself up!

My first cruise was a WW II aircraft carrier and the sleeping racks were 5 high. This has been a great tour so far Jocko. Wonderful memories my friend. Dana

Good flash capture in this photo of the tight sleeping quarters, that looks like it's in a World War II submarine. Rather nice thick mattresses for people to sleep on.

I usually avoid flash captures, but you show one of the ways that a flash setting is actually better! I love the clarity of this shot and the details that come out. I use a simple point and shoot with a few "professional" features thrown in just for the heck of it...I think of my little workhorse camera as a professional-lite camera with too many settings for a tourist or casual photographer, but too few settings for a professional. Anyway...that's a different matter all together. As for this shot, I really like it and it reminds me that I will probably never sleep on the middle bunk. Of course the top bunks look a bit cramped. Ugh. The middle bunk though...that could be bad if the guy above me and the guy below me both snored!!!! But then, I'm not in the Navy so I don't have to worry about that! This is a great shot. I love the details and the fact that even with a flash, you captured the sense of color and texture here. Yeah. Nice!

Nice capture - looks like a typical berthing area on an older ship. Interestingly a new USS Kidd DDG-100 is about to be commissioned. Bet ITS berthing spaces are more spacious. Thanks for reminding an old sailor of days gone by.
