well its a treat for me ..Ive never seen one of these ever in my life .. I was photographing and thinking ( I cant see without glasses on too well ) ..this is strange ..its a really light yellow Monarch butterfly ...when I got home and checked my photos out then I saw the belly of yellow and black stripes ... I didnt know what it was so I checked google for it and found out ... So very pretty; and a definite treat for me as well! Even though the summer has come; believe it or not, I have not encountered even one of these, much less a butterfly! So very pretty and precious an insect.... I do love the flowers as well, most interesting type! Exceptional colours and presentation!

A gorgeous capture of this butterfly we call 'machaon' in the French language. There used to be plenty of them around home when I was a child, but they gradually disappear, owing to the general use of pesticides in the neighbouring fields in the countryside. This species has become extremely rare nowadays, which is sad...This is a superb shot you've done here, of this tiger swallowtail.
