My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Did you and beachzz plan on yellow today? Very cool flower. I reminds me of my shrimp plant flowers, it seems to have the same type of bloom.

Just to be different, they make me think of orange popsicles:) Let's see..."packy-stackies"...but then I am from New York and we pronounce most things a little funny. LOL. Fine backlit shot of several exotic blooms.

They look to me like stacked up bougainvillea flowers, so there ;p Lollipops for pachyderms? Whatever, great capture of these intriguing beauties!

Cool, Tara! Excellent photo of this bloom! I think I got a shot of one of these a couple weekends ago at the Tampa Aquarium - I was wondering what it was.. :-D

This is quite stunning and incredibly unique. I've never seen one of these, let alone heard of them. I love the intense yellow and the arrowhead shape of those petals(?) Great light too! Of course, with my wacky brain and the fact that I seem to be occupied with Agara and Nemaea in equal parts of late, I'm thinking that perhaps these could be recognized (in some future/alternate universe) as Nemaean Butter Stacks? Hmmm...or maybe not. At any rate, I love this shot!
