Description

Back tracking a little. I didn't really like the carriage part. Not steampunkish enough. So here's a new WIP showing a Victorian house as the carriage part. Untextured to show the model. You may notice some of the suggestions I took on board (pun intended). Thanks for looking.

A steampunk Winnebago! I love it. My only suggestion would be to make the exhaust stack on the steam engine at least 1.5 times the height of the house, especially with the open viewing area at the top of the house. - Jay

The stack is at the back of the vehicle. The house is at the front. I guess if they go backwards it could be an issue. :-) That said, a taller stack could give it a more fantasy feel.

@ draculaz ("i always liked the modelling bit more than the texturing part"): Just like me;) Regarding the machine itself, how will these massive frames look in the final version? They are very "cuby". Some perforated steam loco - style frames?

@Silgrin - If I had any idea what you were talking about, I'm sure I'd have a witty riposte.

I can only imagine the sound, or trying to have morning coffee in the kitchen, or ... but it's very cool.

Cool modeling! A couple thoughts. It looks sorta like a 'house mover' now as the house is sorta stuck up on top - instead of some design that the house was a intimate part of. I add this here because I am not sure which is your intent - a sorta steampunk mobile house or a steam punk working machine?

Now that is a valid point and something I have worried over. I'll see what I can do about integrating the two parts more.

Hey, i think it's a cool model. I have no idea how to do stuff like that so I'm impressed.

Yeah, it does look a house mover. But that's alright also. It gives an idea of scale. Huge!!
