Description

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried to take them on board (bigger fly wheels). As for the steering, I originally saw it steering like a tank. But I've now added a Traction Engine kind of steering under the cabin. Being so large though, it's unlikely anyone could steer this sucker without powered steering, so I'm looking at linking the steering through more gears to the engine. I imagine the steering being at the front, and this picture is looking at the back. But it's a steam engine, happy going either way. Chains are tricky. I've added chains to the steering, but the actual drive is still belt driven. Nearly there, a few more details like more lamps, pipes etc. Thanks for looking.

This certainly going to be a nice piece when you finish. My only suggestion is that the metal wheel surface.. rather then being smooth as you have it now shoudl have a V pattern on the surface so it can dig into the soil... Bottom of the V would be in the center as to create a tread.

Fantastic model! Looks like something that actually could exist. I do tend to agree with a couple of things previously mentioned(some sort of tread for traction, visible fuel source), but your engine has an authentic feel about it.

Thats a really massive vehicle... Im only unsure about the power transmission - why use a freewheel instead of direct or geared coupling of the rods to the powered wheels? The steam engine looks verys stationary here. ...Looking forward the finished version! Good luck... I`m also working on a steam vehicle now by some coincidence:)
