Happy Birthday Chip. Back at the deCordova Sculpture garden and Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts. This is Boaz Vaadia's statue called Ammi'el completed in 1999. WOW! Thank you for the dedication! And what a shot to go with it! At first I thought this was metal or something, but seeing full size (zoomed) I can see that it's stone! Marvelous! I don't know this artist, but I love this piece so I'm gonna have to go and do some research now. There are actually similar statues in the Czech Republic, but they're made of copper and they're part of a fountain; have mechanical hips that swivel back and forth as they...well...let's just say that Czech art and Czech humor go hand-in-hand. I don't think it's the same artist, but that layered-plate style is the same, only this sculpture is a lot more polite. What a shot. I love it!

Weird beyond imagination if I was asked to describe this sculpture, Dana. Stellar capture of what resembles the awesome android, Gort, from the original version of the movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still. Gort had arms, though.
