Menzie stepped through the door that led into a large room. Dozens of windows lined the walls. And hanging from chains near one of the windows was Nani, the daughter of Ateia, her former mistress. The fifteen year old dangled from the chains just far enough that she had to stand on her toes. Menzie smiled evilly. "Are you ready to come down apprentice?" She asked in a soothing voice. Nani just stood on one foot silently. The woman spoke again, this time there was menace in her voice. "Don't make me repeat myself, brat." When Nani still refused to speak, The black haired woman stepped forward to slap her. As she drew her arm back to deliver the blow, she was struck hard by the girl's Force Push. Flying across the room, she slammed into the wall, forcing the air from her lungs. After several seconds, Menzie jumped up, her eyes turning amber as the Dark Side took control. Stretching her hand forth, the woman summoned the Force about her and began to choke the girl. Nani closed her eyes and concentrated. She then began to push Menzie's choke hold away from her. Finally, the older woman gave up with a curse. "Yes, you are strong. You will make a powerful apprentice." Menzie stared her in the eyes. "And make no mistake, you will be my apprentice!" "You should be mine!" Nani said with a laugh. "Even the youngest Padawan knows how to detect someone gathering the Force for a Push. You didn't see it coming." Menzie glared at the bound girl, then laughed. "I must go apprentice." Menzie said as she strode to the center of the room where two machines sat in the middle of the floor. "I know about the comlink you have hidden in your jumpsuit. So I'll just turn this on to block your signal." The woman then gave Nani an unsettling grin. "And to make sure that you want me to return, I'll turn this machine on." With a flourish, she pushed the activation stud on that one. "There! Now, if I don't return in eight hours, this bomb will take out this entire building. And only my thumb print will deactivate it." Menzie spun about and left the room. Five minutes later, Nani watched her fly away with a smirk. Turning to the twin devices, she quickly examined them. The bomb was welded to the metal floor, and she didn't think she could muster the Force enough to move it. Nani then grinned. The jammer was just resting atop the bomb. Snatching it with the Force, she sent it flying out the window. She hoped there was no one down there where it was going to land. Nani then took the other chains that hung from the ceiling and tied them together, forming a cradle. She then levitated herself into the metal seat, as she'd been doing for the last two days, and pulled the comlink out and began punching numbers. Narcotics detective Beth Myuler stared at the dead Super Battle Droid, and what appeared to be some kind of jamming device embedded in it's droid brain. The others stood around trying to figure out where it had come from. Beth just shook her head. It was just like the incident in the CoCo District the night before last. "Forget about it!" She shouted. "Let's get in there and shut this damned Mind Blow factory down! That was the last of the droid guards." Tomorrow, I'm unveiling the new Kaleena. I got tired of using Sydney.
