Description

Hello everybody, weekend ends in a few minutes here in Germany, time for a new pic and a look at yours....hope you had a great weekend. May I introduce a good old friend of mine, Mr. Ian Anderson and his comrades from JETHRO TULL? The pic shows Duane Perry (drums), David Goodier (bass) and Mr. Anderson himself with his magic flute....... JETHRO TULL sold more than 60 million records, gave more than 2600 concerts in 46 countries of the world, produced 21 CDs and so on..... Being 42 years in the business, this makes JETHRO TULL to one of the most influencial and dynamic rock bands ever. Today, in an age of 63 years the leader, the multi-instrumentalist Ian Anderson is in a good condition, his flute play is magnificent and this stage show is dynamic as ever. And the band acts perfectly till today, even with two new members, they perform perfectly... This concert here was one of the musical highlights of the Berlin concert season of 2010. Pic was done with Nikon Coolpix 8700 (my good ol coolpix..) at 22th July 2010 in the Spandau citadel, and old renaissance fortress from 1570. Some words about the location: The Spandau citadel in Berlin is place for the yearly citadel music festival, a row of high-class jazz- and rock concerts during the summer from June till the end of August. The last concert in the row will be at 31th August, and then the bats are coming...... Yes, you are right: The bats come, searching for a winter home! The Spandau citadel is the biggest winter quarter for several sorts of bats in Middle Europe, and every winter more than 50 000 bats sleep in the caverns and dungeons. So the big events of summer end at the last day of August with a last big concert and and a fiesta. The highlight in this year is RUNRIG, the scottish-gaelic rock band (I will be there). Highlights of last years were TANGERINE DREAM and JETHRO TULL 40years anniversary concert Hope you enjoy this pic. Thanks for your comments, please feel free to send them, both directions, they are always welcome. And thanks for your comments for my last pic, a special "Thank You" to Jocko for taking it as his "favorite" Feeels good! And now YOURS....

@knupps: An absolutely must-be! They act perfect as a machine, as they did earlier in their carreer, even with the two new members. It was a great evening, and my friends were very happy, too. They performed most of their old and very old hits from the beginning. Good luck!

Thank you for that trip into 'nostalgia', I loved it, especially as I am living now in Australia but had spent my childhood in Berlin-Wannsee (close enough to B.-Spandau) - yes, some of us are living in the past ! ..and what is there not to like about Jethro Tull (or Berlin?), wish I could have been there. Half your luck, BB

I saw them 4 times in the 70's when concerts were reasonable. The concerts they did were, Stand Up, Aqualung, Thick As A Brick and Passion play. Worth every penny. Great shot.

Dear friends! Thanks for your nice comments here! I didn`t know how popular this band is today (in different places of the world, it seem). I thought it was a spleen of an old man like me....
