Published writer, neophyte artist, and always learning.
After working with Poser for the last 5 years, I've switched to Carrara. Even though I've had it for about 3 builds, the UI was too unfriendly and non-intuitive for me, until Poser 8 went whacky for me on my system. So I jumped in, read the forums and began to get back into deep learning mode.
Just scratching the surface, but having fun and trying new things. Lots of possibilities.

Excellent work with this character! The scene captures an electric moment...nicely done!

This works marvelously as a subtle and even somewhat harrowing character study, as a particular "moment of clarity" can, indeed be a harrowing experience under the right (wrong?) circumstances! There is, after all, a certain terror in realizing: Oh frak! I AM the person mom and dad warned me about! and it doesn't even have to be anything momentous and earth-shatteringly large...it could be something big, like a recognition of one's intrinsic identity, or it could be something as minor as realizing...ya know...I really hate modular calculus...it doesn't matter...it's big when it happens, and this image captures that full, rich, and incredibly human range. It's well done, nicely subtle, and yeah...beautifully lit.

I think it's kind of sweet.

Quite a lot you are conveying there in that one look and frozen moment in time. Great job.

i love the lighting, the DOF, and the overall scene. which is to say, everything. the wallpaper seems like it's in excessive disrepair to me, but most things about teenage boys have absolutely amazed me to learn. things they jumped off of, situations they got into, bathrooms, etc. nice use of interesting props, too.
