Description

In general, the Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui), is almost global in its distribution. It has a wing span of 2 - 2 7/8 in (5 - 9cm) and identified, when its wings are open, by mainly deep orange wings. They lay their blue eggs on open leaves and caterpillars emerge, later forming a chrysalis that will eventually become a butterfly. Information from Wikipedia. That's what happens to young standup comedians in front of unimpressed audiences. They lay eggs. Fine macro of the Painted Lady in the process of depositing her little white orbs on the open leaf, Dana, with good contrast against the black background.
