Description

The 1933rd Psalm The politician is my shepherd - I am in want. He maketh me lie down on park benches, He leadeth me beside still factories, He disturbeth my soul. He leadeth me into the path of destruction for the Party's sake. Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Depression, I anticipate no recovery, for he is with me. He prepareth a reduction in my salary, in the presence of mine enemies. He annointeth my small income with taxes: My expenses runneth over. Surely unemployment and poverty shall follow me all the days of my life. And I shall dwell in a mortgaged house forever. There are many versions of this "Psalm", dating from the Depression in pre-WWII America, attributed to just as many different authors. I feel this is quite appropriate in today's economic turmoil. The sculpture is by Norma Huntsman. She is a wonderful and talented lady. To show her heart, when she learned Lea and had lost our parents (except for my dad, who is still alive), she adopted us and insisted we call her "Mom". And we do. Thank you for dropping by and looking. A big thanks to all who have favorited me or my submissions. Allen

Love the face of the mouse. He seems quite pleased with himself. ;o) I began reading how people coped with the The Big Crash of 1929, and found they were quite resourceful. We could learn from them with our present situation. We all should be a lot more careful who we vote into office, too.

Excellente capture ! Great poem ! From our politicians are like Robin Hood, just having done something wrong: they rob the poor to give more to the rich.

Great photo of the sculpture and the Psalm is right on in today's world where our professional politicians rule over us instead of representing us.
