Description

No Tibetan custom is as well known as the offering of a 'kata' or silk greeting scarf. It is an auspicious symbol which lends a positive note to the start of any enterprise or relationship and indicates the good intentions of the person offering it. This kata which was offered to me on my first arrival at Kathmandu airport is featured here next to the Indian sitar I used to play when I was a student!

Thank you very much for your comments on my last photo and gallery. Have a nice day!...please zoom !

A beautiful and meaningful image, my Friend! How gorgeous is this silk kata, and sends out a very powerful and spiritual message. I do admire this custom. Impeccable view here with the richest of colours and contrast... something very majestic and royal about this.... a very special and a marvellous composition!
