Description
The water tower at Volunteer Park was built in 1906, and above the door it says Agua Pura MCMVI in case you needed a hint as to the function of the tower.
I didn't walk to the top, wanting to save myself for an extended walk in a local cemetery later in the day. The report back from those who climbed was that it was 107 steps, or perhaps 110. Or maybe 112. They weren't sure. I looked it up on the internet, and someone said it was 180 steps. (That can't be right!) In any event ... for me, it was zero steps. :D
Wandering around the bottom taking photos was quite rewarding!
This is a shot from inside the tower, looking back at half the gate that closes the tower to the public.

I climbed the steps...counted to about 100 and had my attention diverted by who knows what? It was as you say...somewhere around 110:) I do like the light in this shot of the inside of the brick wall that makes up the tower wall. Well done!

The light in this is quite amazing, and I love the colors as well...the stonework and the metal are nicely exciting...and yeah...water towers are such incredible fun. A certain Victor-person was born not far from a city with a water tower with BELLS in it...how wacky is that? Anyway...I love this shot!
