Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Reminds me of the old Otis Redding classic, "Sittin' on the dock of the bay". WINK.

Ok, it brings to mind the saying, "a long walk on a short pier..." Nice statement made with your postwork.

I always look for the weirdest stuff when I see postwork done by someone else--well, I always make the weirdest associations, anyway...and in this case, I like the way this has a little bit in common with the sort of probe telemetry NASA or JPL would get back from various old school space probes (and not those snazzy new space telescopes that bring the whole frikkin' universe to our NASA.gov or someplace like that.) So, having seen little tiny pixel artifacts (probably my own screen resolution) I must say that you started out with a great photo and gave it a nicely high-tech, but wholly organic feel for me. That's always a good thing! This is quite a nice piece of work.

I really like what you've accomplished here. Very creative image of a familiar seen that we view differently now.

Donner, party of 50....sorry, that line from the movie Patch Adams with Robin Williams always cracks me up. This dock looks like the perfect place to set up a camp chair, get out a good book...and have your camera at the ready!

I'm feeling poorly at the moment, and not too creative, so I'll just say, all the above, Marilyn!
