Description
When I happened across this fine lass, she was not a happy camper! I don't know what her day had been like thus far, but whatever had occurred, she was ready for a fight. Actually, looking behind her, I saw many legs and they were most certainly not attached to her! So it's anyone's guess what kind of a morning she'd had - though by the look of it, she had fared better than 'the legs'!
Anyway, lest it was something I'd said, I snapped and quietly went on my way. When I returned a couple of hours later, she and 'the legs' were nowhere to be seen. With all those spare legs, I think she probably went 'walk-about'! ^=^
Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

Stella Steatoda eh, well this is a stellar shot, very well captured.

Update. This is actually a Steatoda nobilis. She certainly had the round butt of a false black widow. Anyway, so says another friend. Course - he could be as wrong as the first one. So, for the time being I shall simply call this a spider!! ^=^

Magnificent capture of one of nature's wonderous creatures!

What a tangled web we weave when first we set out to scare the pants off the viewer. Fascinating shot.

Her web is really more of a blanket...a hammock with a cause. :-) Nice shot.

I love funnel webs, and the residents of such silken architectural wonders are just as fascinating...especially if there are mysterious extra legs involved. I love the details in this and the oddness of those extra legs. I suspect it was something totally mundane in the spider world, but completely unexpected to us critters endowed with only four limbs. This is a great shot!
