------------- Fluxstone Mages
The discovery and understanding of fluxstone has perhaps been the greatest boon to magic since the creation of wands. Off-worlders have fought and died to take the fluxstone from us, for they have other uses for it. It once powered the mighty Kar’kaine Dynasty, a star empire that stretched across two dozen galaxies. But Emperor Kanagi Delos, the last of the Kar’kaine emperors, ended all that. His actions are still somewhat unclear, but through some great power, he took all the fluxstone of the universe and sent it away. Where “away” was, no one knows. Then seeing his mistake, and a possible future free of the influences that destroyed his home, he brought it all back. Arrallon is where it rematerialized. The Kar’kaine Dynasty, the light of human civilization in the known universe for 7,000 years, collapsed, and a universal dark age began.
On a backwater world in a galaxy on the rim, the primitive humanoids suddenly began to realize they could affect the world with their minds and their will. They evolved almost overnight into a mighty race of super-powerful spellcasters, the Krell. But they evolved too fast. They could not contain their passions and soon warred on each other. A mighty cataclysm, the Planet Shift, coincided with the height of their civil war, ending them and bringing Arrallon into a new age. Centuries later, the first elves appeared. Other races followed. Millennia later, the first human civilizations came into being. But magic had changed. It became harder to master, difficult to manifest, and not everyone had it. Its secrets, the secrets known to all Krell, were lost.
18,566 years have passed since the Planet Shift, and many things have changed on Arrallon. We have learned of our distance past, our world’s pre-history. We have learned the secrets of Kanagi Delos, the Shadows, and the Ashiri. Even some of the secrets of the Krell have re-emerged in the last century. The off-world manipulation of our world and our people has come to an end. The war between the Shadows and the Ashiri is over. We are on our own now. What we make of our world is entirely up to us. The days of fluxstone are upon us. We must be wiser in its use than all those who have come before and failed.
This is why we built this place, this Kar’Dhaer Academy, to teach you of the secrets, but more, to give you the wisdom to use those secrets. And here you come, from all corners of the world, to learn, to be a part of something larger than nations and religions and races and cultures. Here we will build the fellowship of crystal, the heart of the Fluxstone Mages.

Power corrupts, and absolute power absolutly corrupts. So i wonder how they will manage once they gain absolute control over the fluxstones. Great image and background history!
