Description

I missed this one. I was inside the museum and was standing right by the door to go out into the court yard. But never did. wish I had . I could got some real close up shots of this wonderful plane. What caught my eye outside was movement out the cornder of my eye and i saw the lady and the plane then. I rush to get the shot in with the lady. I remember my dad talking about Claire Lee Chennault because he worked at Chennault airbase here in Lake Charles intill it closed down and he retired. here a link to the Flying Tigers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Tigers thanks for lookingand commenting too

Quite a suspension system keeping this historic P-40 in the air. The planes camouflage makes it difficult to see...but that was the whole purpose:) Thanks for this Jocko.

Wow, a cool capture of lots of stuff in this image! The P-40 must have pretty good suspension to keep it from crashing into the buildings and lampposts, Jock.

I believe the Flying Tiger's flew in Burma before the U.S. ever entered WW II. They were wild cat pilots from the Great Generation that served proudly. A classic aircraft well deserving of its place in Aviation history. Well done Jocko...a great shot

the bench sort of makes this odd...sit and enjoy the view of the fighter...ignore the reason it exists.
