Description
It was 4 years back, 2006 when they tore this older building down to make way for a set of condo's in the cities center. Lo & behold what emerged on the other buildings side was this sterling example of early 20th century advertising. I found out that the sign had been there since 1906 and was the first of its type in Canada. Interesting to note.
" RELIEVES FATIGUE " and for only 5 cents, and sold everywhere. If it were that easy eh.
The building was leveled and a new on put up smack dab beside the old one and once again this neat sign has been covered up for perhaps another 100 or so years. Interesting and timely, and " Relieves Fatigue." Hard to beat eh.........thanks for the peek

Condos grrrrr- VERY cool capture of what the a-holes tore down....Coca-Cola used to contain cocaine speaking of relieving fatigue- Thanks much for the site mail- I am plotting and planning as we speak:)

We still have a few of the old downtown buildings with the original signs painted on them like this but there are many new ones being done...not so much for products as for events and sights to see in town though. I love this for the nostalgia effect.

This is a great glimpse back into an earlier time. Wish the capture was a bit larger.
