Description
Without doubt the most complex model I have ever done, learnt more doing this than any other model.
Modelled in Maya (8,400,935 Edges! in total scene)112 hrs total including UV mapping and rendering.
Rendered using Mental Ray Physical Sun & Sky with the clouds connected to the haze parameter.
The model is based on Greseleys A3 Pacific of about 1928 the Flying Scotsman was originally an A1 built and named for the British Empire Exhibition of 1924, it was later upgraded to an A3.

Cool... It looks nice, but the lighting in this scene hides detail. Any chance of a series of renders with some light thrown on it to show off all the work? Now if you want to see a modeling challenge (crazy even), take a look at the one being done only with booleans on the Bryce forum. (Dunno if it'll ever be finished, but it's fairly impressive too.)
