Description

FORWARD, HO!!! Captured 7/31/10, at an American Civil War Reenactment held at the vast and beautiful El Dorado Park in beautiful Long Beach, California. Much, much better viewed full size. Photos 1, 2, and 3 depict Bill's (bmac62) great grandfather corporal preparing to lead his men into battle. Bottom shot shows an officer and steed at fast trot. I spent a full concentrated week and a half postworking the cool 562 pictures I took of this exhilarating event, abstaining from food, sleep, shaving, shopping, socializing, my favorite TV programs, and other necessities of life, in the process. TTFN, thankx for clicking on, and for any and all complimentary comments and faves.

Looks like it was well worth the sacrifices Harry. Superb shots, I love them! Horses ears are tuned into something, wow. Turned every which way.

Ah, you have a great memory Harry. Yes, GG Layton did make sergeant for a short while...then got himself busted back to corporal. And that is the way he ended the war...although I'm not 100% sure of the year he enlisted, I think it was 1862 and he rode successfully until the end of the war having his horse shot out from under him only once:) Glad he made it...or I wouldn't be here with the same DNA. LOL

I have never attended a reenactment like this, but I am sure it would be very fascinating to experience what we've all read about in our history books and seen in the movies... Nice work.
