Description

Not sure if this Osprey is male or female as both were there, the other is hidden by the nest wall. this is located about 200 feet from the back door of where I work! It is a pleasure to see them arrive every spring , remodeling the nest and over the months lay, hatch the eggs and raise the babies. this picture was taken in an overcast sky and was about 2pm! I did some postwork to improve the image and resized for Rendo's requirements Have a great weekend Mike

Outstanding photo, Mike! Interesting how they provide those platforms for the birds to build nests on. While I was in Florida, I noticed that they would provide platforms on the 69KV distribution poles for the pelicans to nest on. Keeps them off the crossarms and away from the power cables...

I'm impressed with a power company that would build that platform for the birds or did the birds force them hehe

Great shot, and a cool picture of the bird and the stand they built to prevent the bird from becoming cooked. Nice work!

Great capture. I'm impressed by what appears to be a platform built for the birds nest. What a wonderful gift from some humans.
