Description
In Norse mythology, Hel is described as ruler of a realm of the same name, located in Niflheim.
She is a daughter of Loki, Odin threw her into Niflheim after a dire prophecy about her and her siblings, and bestowed upon her authority over nine worlds, in that she must "administer board and lodging to those sent to her, and that is those who die of sickness or old age.
Her appearance is described as half-black and half-flesh colored!
In this humble representation of Her, to spare the sensitive souls, I concealed this terrifying dark side behind a lock of hair!

Great story behind this infamous mythological being. Really great portrait in close up... I was hoping to see through her hair but it was not to be.
