Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Stunning! I love the fact that bison are so...naked in the back and so incredibly shaggy in front, it makes them look a bit front-heavy! You really captured this guy in his full, grazing glory and it's a top notch shot all around. Wonderful!

This is one big boy Dana! I wouldn't want to mess with him! I am wondering if they are also so unpredictable and dangerous as their cousins in Africa - the Cape Buffalo??? Wonderful shot!

Absolutely one stellar profile image of that big brute of a bison, Dana, with interesting information to go with it! It seems to be digging up or burying something. The last time I saw an image like that was on a nickel.

Aha, this is the shot you mentioned! Thanks for the kind words Dana! That certainly is my area. They are just amazing to watch and this is a great shot! Right now we have a little excitement up here as about 30 bison escaped from a farm south of Edmonton and still remain at large. They are proving difficult to capture, ha ha! Anyone who has tried will know they are next to impossible to herd, and are sometimes used in rodeos for cutting competitions as they are particularly adept at outsmarting horse movements. I suspect they will never get all of them back, but right now the risk to motorists is high as the animals are very scared from being chased for the past day.
