Description

Jasper, in the Canadian Rockies, was a 4 hour drive west of Edmonton. This is a view that I will never forget. Mt. Edith Cavell, is a mountain (elevation 11,033 feet (3,363 meters) located in the Athabasca River and Astoria River valleys of Jasper National Park, Canada. The mountain was named in 1916 for Edith Cavell, an English nurse executed by the Germans during World War I for having helped allied soldiers escape from occupied Belgium to the Netherlands, in violation of military law. Mt. Edith Cavell dominated any view from the city of Jasper. Info from Wikipedia. This series was taken with a film Pentax camera (July & August 1988) and recently scanned. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Nice capture but a picture just does not show the grand majesty of the place. I thought it was fantastic when I saw it in person.
