Description

From the Whidbey Island garden tour. This was at Rhythm Waters. This started out as an almost double-exposure shot. There was SO much movement in the flowers while my shutter was open! There was something about it that kept calling to me, that made me think about painting. Rather than go to all that trouble though, I just postworked the image within an inch of its life, and loved the way it turned out!

These remind me of probable flowers as they'd likely appear in a China Miéville novel. They have that sort of very-real-but-not-exactly-there quality that I like, whenever I think of probable flowers or probable anythings that just-so-happen to be captured by a camera. The postwork you did on this is absolutely fantastic, and you've got me to thinking of what to do with blurred photographs created without the spin-and-jiggle process I've come to enjoy. I love the summery/spring-ish feel to this. Yeah, this rocks!
