Description
You approach Fushimi Inari Shrine along a wooded path. The first thing you will see is a line of Torii Gates lined up as if marching through the forest. The shrine is located on the slopes of Mount Inari (Inariyama) and features one of most recognizable icons of Japan.
Fushimi-Inari is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the spirit Inari, who's name was derived from ine-nari, or "growing rice" or "grain." The Fushimi-Inari shrine is the oldest and most prominent Inari shrine, and the founding of the shrine in 711 AD coincides with the earliest recorded worship of the spirit Inari.

What a wonderful POV for this shrine. I love it with all the greenery. Most shots of this shrine shoot through the torii you never get to see the surroundings. It's a beautiful place! Excellent shot.

Excellent composition and color! I love the red showing through the forest of green. The curves of the roofs, mimic the curves of the branches. Wonderful shadows giving great depth and mystery to the scene! Beautiful image!
