Description
This is a mock up of an old cottage kitchen where everything was stored around you. No freezers then!

Not a tour of Farley towers then, imagine having to dust that lot, interesting stuff Jeff.

Grannie had a kitchen range like that one, still in use just after the war.

It's very curious how much of this seems very familiar!

Oh, I also see hanging there a carpet beater. A dangerous weapon in the hands of mothers, at the time. Nice to see this old stuff, so cute.

I don't like cooking now with all the conveniences, I'm sure I'd starve it I had to cook there. Wonderful shot and reminder of how lucky we are now.

A lovely capture but I am very glad to have my mod cons. It must have taken so long to get anything done in those days.

It's just amazing, with what little things one could get away with then, when it came to cooking a meal - compared with nowadays, where the pantry is full of stuff one doesn't need. (check top shelf) Home made is best ! thanks for sharing, BB

LOVELY!!!

This is so reminiscent of my grandparent's kitchen in S. Wales - although 'kitchen' was not a word I ever heard. 'Skullery' was used instead, when Welsh was not being spoken. Add a wooden stucture above the Aga, with slats for airing clothes, another bed warmer, and there you have it! One of the jobs I loved when a child was the blacking of the Aga! Wow what memories! ^=^ Fabulous image. ^=^

Wonderful catch! I am very interesting in such old kitchens. My parents used a modern version, but it must be in a museum meanwhile, too.... I agree with Lick.a.witch: Memories, tons of memories...
