Description

TONIGHT PART TWO delaorden_ojeda VIDEO CLIC HERE Montreal Underground System Montreal's Underground City is the set of interconnected complexes (both above and below ground) in and around Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is also known as the indoor city, and is the largest underground complex in the world. Not all portions of the indoor city are underground. The connections are considered tunnels architecturally and technically, but have conditioned air and good lighting as any building's liveable space does. Many tunnels are large enough to have shops on both sides of the passage. With over 32 km (20 mi) of tunnels spread over more than 12 km2 (4.6 sq mi), connected areas include shopping malls, apartment buildings, hotels, condominiums, banks, offices, museums, universities, seven metro stations, two commuter train stations, a regional bus terminal and the Bell Centre amphitheatre and arena. There are more than 120 exterior access points to the underground city. Each access point is an entry point to one of 60 residential or commercial complexes comprising 3.6 km2 (1.4 sq mi) of floor space, including 80% of all office space and 35% of all commercial space in downtown Montreal. In winter, some 500,000 people use the underground city every day. Because of its Underground City, Montreal is often referred to as the "Double-Decker City" or "Two Cities in One". Thanks Magik

MERCI Magik

I live in a concrete Jungle... I'm outside at least 3 hours of the day, on concrete... Nature has already been stolen from my life, I would not want to live underground... It may be good for some, not me... If I could wave a magic wand and make all the polution go away and what causes it - I'd do it in a heartbeat... man has to, has to find a way back to mother nature - it doesn't look like it will EVER happen, we already look at it as it won't happen in our lifetime.... This sounds gloomy I know, but I'm feeling society is out of control... When I read about your underground city, I thought of all the people trapped on the Titanic that couldn't escape.... I thought of 911, all those people trapped in burning buildings...A catastrophy will happen, it's just a matter of time. Nice pictures though, looks like a subway.

Quite impressive but Big Cities, crowds of people, Shopping Malls are the reason I moved back to the Desert Southwest and got me a Place in the Middle of The Big Empty. Nearest neighbors are Coyotes and Rattlesnakes, nearest Human neighbor is a mile and a half away. Peace

Looks great would be good in the winter when one wouldn't have to be outside in the cold/heat doing their shopping. Mind you I prefer to be in a small town or out in the country..
