Description

Hello all Well its been a while . thought I would pop in and say hello to you all :) Took this image this summer in Northern Indiana Amish country liked the mood here so thought I would share today . I have always been fascinated with Amish life and have been to Amish country about four times before . I had never seen an open buggy in that area before like this one ( usually you see the closed Box buggy's ) To me, coming from Los Angeles , this seemed to be something out of a time capsule I stuck my camera out the car window and snapped hoping I had captured what seemed so beautiful to me. There was a town summer fair that day( or festival ) in their neighboring town ( called Middlebury ) and these Amish ladies seemed to be driving toward it in cheerfully. you could hear the clip clop clip clop the the horses hoofs on the pavement . For just a short while I found myself dreaming of what it would be like Amish ( my great Grandmother was ) . It seems like such a simple life ( although I know its also alot of hard work ) They seemed to be enjoying the breeze and the backs of their colorful Amish dresses billowed in the wind . It was one of my favorite captures from that day and I thought it deserved to be in my gallery so posting :) Have missed you all. ( my oldest daughter got real sick last year and so I took some time off . she is doing much better now ) now need to take a look around here at all your amazing work and see what I have been missing out on ! Take care, ((( Sending a Big hug your way ))) love, ♥ Kimmers

Oh, I thought you were talking about the Los Angeles County Fair held annually in Pomona, but this is more interesting. I didn't know you were Amish. I thought you were from Europe. Anyway, a very cool and wonderful capture of the riders, the buggy and entire environment in this shot, Kimmers! Oh, and glad to see you're back for a visit. You have been terribly missed.

It's got the Kimmers touch. You always know how to find the beauty. This has such a lovely simplicity and tells a story, too. SO GREAT to have you visit and post. I didn't know your daughter was sick and am very happy to hear she is better now. You've been very missed. Hugs - CC

Extraordinary shot made even more so considering the manner in which you shot it. I once got lost in Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I spent hours driving around not because I didn't know how to get back on the interstate but I was having such a wonderful time looking around. The lifestyle certainly has it's appeal, but...
