I am THRILLED to see this image. It is honestly one of the best things I've seen on Renderosity all year. Your painting technique is really refined and -- as I said -- I'm excited to look at it. This is the sort of image I could get lost in for ages, just to study your technique. Besides your great pose, strong composition (he is so neatly -- yet organically -- framed by the other horses), it's the subtle touches that move your work above and beyond the pale of what I usually see her (which, I hate to sound negative, is usually dominated by what I call post-apocalyptic strippers -- not that there's anything wrong with that, it just gets tiresome after awhile). I really appreciate the way you use dusty haze around horse and rider to separate them from the background. It looks natural and helps the central figures of horse and rider pop from the background and remain the focus of the scene. I also like the tiny "glow" you put around the rifle barrel so it would stand out against the similarly colored mane. And the mane, of course -- is INCREDIBLE. Love the detail and the sense of movement. This is a great painting, and I can't wait to explore the rest of your gallery. (BTW: I "discovered" this image in the gallery for the adh3dUScavalry Pack, which I'm considering buying). Thanks again for posting this: BRAVO!
