Description

I took this hand held and then I had to crop it to show the boat and oil platform. Do not know how far they was off shore? Just wanted to show what the news is not showing. Anyway I took this at Holly beach today. I got a lot of images from there. some I had to delete as my hand shake. Lol and here I zoomed out all the way and it came out find hand held and close up ones is all shook up. lol

This is one of those things I find familiar... A good feeling about what drives the communities along the Gulf Coast. Wonderful.

A great shot of the Gulf community. Nice job on framing and getting the shot. Good camera eye.

Fantastic capture Jock, as I've never seen the two so close together before.

This is a fantastic capture, and I love the sense of skewed proportion. The water seems so dominant and the shrimp boat looks exotic and foreign. It's a great shot of what the news doesn't show at all and it's a nice glimpse into a part of the world I don't get to see. You have a knack for this...it's marvelous.

Stunning! The two enemies side by side....(LOL)An outstanding catch! Both constructions look exotic from the distance, and the shimmering water has its own mood. Thanks for sharing, a very strange world for me!

I hope the shrimp boats survive. A lot has been lost already and I'm sure it will be difficult for them... Nice shot. Aloha

The silvery water works well to show off the distant objects.

I know how hard it is to capture distant ocean shots.between the motion of the ocean and haze, it is very difficult.the last time I went to Galveston I used my 500mm lens and I had to find something to steady my hands. seems like the motion of the waves increases the sensation of moving.outstanding shot I have heard that the size of the boat is not important, but the motion of the ocean
