Description

this is Hollybeach; the Riviera of Louisiana. Yes this is the best beach in Louisiana on the Gulf coast. The water is brown and at lest the breach is clean compare to what it was in the 1960's and 70's. I been there wher beer cans all over the place. and jelly fish you have to watch your steps or you step on one. it not like that any more. The beach is clean from beer cans anfd broken bottles and bbq pits thown away. Dirty dipers from baby too was there. if you look long time you even find the kitchen sink thown there. Now it clean. I know the gulf will thow the jelly fishes and other stuff from the sea there but at lest what man thows is not there too much. I sure there some people that will still thow suff away. Pichture tooken yesterday. I went yesterday because it raining today. I did wen camping here around 1967 and you stand in front of the tent the mosquitos was not there but you walk around the tent where the wind is block the mosquitos would cover you. we could build fires there too so that was nice. And that night the Gulf glow as the waves broke on the beach. cause by this effect. I not sure what really cause it but here a link that maybe what happen. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/aprilholladay/2005-11-21-glowing-sea-algae_x.htm thanks for comments and looking and favorite

It looks windy! It costs a resort like this and like my hometown thousands a year because folk are so filthy with the rubbish.

It does look inviting. And very clean. Galveston Beach used to be cluttered too and now its much nicer. Still the jelly fish and small sharks wash up, but aside from the occasional tar ball, its just as lovely. I don't know that they allow camping on the beach though. This is special.

Thats cool, we went to Cameron during the summers in the 60's and 70's. I do remember there was a lot of trash back then.

From what I've read, a dangerous place to be considering all the toxic defoliants that BP poured into the water to break up the oil spill, Jock. The fumes have made many people very, very sick. In any event, a cool capture.
