Description

Rendezvous and Capture. With vital manoeuvring fuel for NASAs fleet of three Orbital Shuttles swiftly running out Robert Carter has used the last of three test flights of the Cocoon Cargo Carrier to launch into space and position on the newly enlarged American section of the International Space Station the FS-1 Fuel Store Module, the module which can be used to house up to twelve of the generic fuel pods used by the Orbital Shuttle fleet. With Cocoon now issued with its all important Certificate of Aero-Space Worthiness, Carter is able to use the cargo carriers first official flight into space to launch the twelve fuel pods which will be housed in the Fuel Store Module, and with the successful forth launch of Cocoon into Earth orbit, and the separation of its four cover components to reveal its payload the next phase of the hazardous mission can commence. Once again slowly, ever so slowly the Orbital Shuttle Endeavour approaches the now free floating Fuel Pod Mount. As with most NASA hardware which flies into space the mount has also been equipped with a series remote mini cameras which are able to relay pictures back to the Orbital Shuttle to its pilot on the shuttles flight deck so that she operate even more effectively the two robotic arms in the shuttles cargo bay and use them to now grip the floating mount. Once safely and securely located in the jaws of the Orbital Shuttles robotic arms the fragile and valuable cargo will be moved to a location only a few short feet from the waiting Fuel Store Module so that the most dangerous phase of the mission can commence.

The potential for a real 'bad day at the office'..although a passing meteor or bit of space junk could radically change the scene, I'm sure Mr Carter has contingencies plans to cover the 'ooops' factor.Another fine render, and the story moves along. (May I ask : how much time has passed for ABIS, since 'Old Dog New Tricks' ? )
