Description

In a forgotten corner of human-occupied space a family of inventors and eccentrics had the audacity to dream of a better future for their race. While the rest of humanity fought a largely pointless war that did little more than result in some wanton destruction and death, they built for for tomorrow, and waited. Patience isn't easy and usually takes a terrible toll on those who must find the strength to wait until there are ears to listen, but sometimes the rewards will make the cost worth bearing. We may never truly know what hardships were endured to make this happen, but this lonely station lost in the dark harbored dreamers, and we can never truly repay their sacrifice. --From the memoirs of Dr. Seraggio, Historian of colony "New Hope" ----------------- I've not been feeling as creative as I'd prefer, mostly buried under the realities of life in a precarious economy in the very depressed state of Michigan. Still, I have a job which is better than many here can say, and friends who genuinely care so I should be grateful, right? This was kind of my attempt to point myself towards a little optimism again, getting my eyes off of my feet and back on the horizon again. At any rate, this was assembled in Bryce, but there's a a flaw in my modeling I didn't notice until after it was rendered and the compositing had begun. Can you spot it? The background, planet, and other postworking has all been done in Photoshop CS3. Thanks for taking a look!

Nice! Can't seem to find the flaw you're talking about, though. I mean, it might not have been as you intended, but it doesn't seem "wrong". The nearest module end is different than the rest, but I figure that's intentional, since you need to dock somewhere. Nope. Not seeing it.

I sure not seeing it, so it must not be too obvious. Of course, if this were "reality"--whatever the heck that is!--it might be life-threatening to the colonists. I'm curious, though, as to whether these stations of yours or huge or relatively small. I'm assuming huge, perhaps not. What I'm asking is how many colonists does the thing house?

It doesn't appear under my mcroscope...not seeing anything wrong with this fine piece of modelling! Good to see you out in space again!

Good to see another space render! Well ,like the others, I sure don't see anything amiss - but then I'm half asleep, and having problems with my left eye. Hope things get better for you. Real life has an annoying habit of interfering with the fun stuff! I'm having the same problem :-P

One more nice sci-fi pic for you! Didn't spot the flaw, so don't worry, it isn't that big! ;) And hold on, there's always sunshine after the rain!

A very cool picture with a lot of detail on your spacestation to look at. Excellent planet and background that blends in very well with the rest of the image. Great job!!! David

A welcome return to open (head)space... Great modeling, as always. I certainly can't see any engineering faults.
