Description
Pzkw Mk II
Design started in July 1934. It was to supplement the Pzkw Mk I with the ability to fire armour piercing shot. The chassis was by MAN and hull by Daimler-Benz. Production started in late 1935. Though already out-classed by 1939, it served as the main tank of the German army during 1939 and 1940 due to delays in the production of the Pzkw Mk III and Pzkw Mk IV. It was a good light reconnaissance tank and it’s chassis was used for the development of other vehicles such as self propelled guns or artillery.

We are arriving at the toy tank stage now, little more than an armoured tractor. However in 1939 / 40 an awsome machine, effective through weight of numbers and the best on the battlefield. It was in this tank that Michael Wittmans gunner Balthazar 'Bobby' Woll learned his trade, along with so many others. This little guy is the epitome of 'Blitzkreig' and as you say the basis for far more deadly variants.Nice model work and info too.

A fine addition to you series. Sure outclassed the Polish horse mounted cavalry in September 1939.
