Description
The Royal Air Force (RAF) and indeed all of the UK is celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the successful outcome of the Battle of Britain wherein Nazi Germany tried to destroy the RAF to gain air superiority over England prior to a planned German invasion across the English Channel in 1940.

Junkers Ju 88A-1s, -4s and -5s were employed in large numbers by the German Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain.
This Ju 88D-1 was flown to Cyprus in 1943 by a defecting Romanian pilot (Romania was allied with Germany at that time) and turned over to British forces there. It was subsequently flown to the USA for extensive flight testing and was placed in the USAF Museum at Dayton, Ohio in 1960.

wow, we call this aeroplane "auntie Ju" we have two of them still used for special occasions! Wonderful picture and very large aeroplane!
