Ocean Coral Best FULL SIZE! Hello all its been awhile since you have seen anything from me. My laptops Graphic card had died and I had to wait for a month till I could get a new one. Still installing the DAZ content but the base POSER content runtimes are kept on a seperate exteranl hard drive but DAZ's specific content has to be reloaded and organized again. I have been trying to come up with an interesting image to post and to show off my new computers abilities. I hope that you enjoy this view of the ocean from it's inhabitabtant's perspective? It was an easy scene to setup but several hours to render at such a large size approximately 20 hours time. I probally never would have even attempted this on my old laptop computer because it would have taken days literally if it even could have done it. I then used my old PSP7.0 program to blend a few layers together to give more of a sense of depth and a bit of color to the scene. I like the way the bubbles play on the lights and even add a bit of caustics to the coral rock bed. And the overall image is a bit of a natrual abstract with the light bouncing around the tranlucencent bubbles. For the 3D techies the bubbles are DAZ ParticleFX for Studio and the coral is an underwater enviroment from DAZ. The bakground is from DAZ's Caustics light set for Studio. The top light is merely a noraml spotlight(shadow map on) with the same alighnment as the images backgrounds lightrays and a distant light(no shadows) at the bottom to even out the scene and for the impression of ambient light in the water. Also if anyone is interested I bought a Toshiba Satelite L655 laptop with an Intel Core i3-M350@2.27Ghz has an ATI Radeon Mobility 5145 512k Graphics card that can also utilise about half the onboard RAM(so can go up to about 2GB). 4.0GB of RAM a 300GB Hard Drive and I am running 64bit Windows7 Home Premium that came with it. I was wanting an i5 but money and time fell short of that goal. I'm quite pleased with the performance of the i3 it is a dual core but it can work like a quad core. In fact in the performance monitoring it is recognized as a quad core system. And the system runs a lot cooler than my old HP even afte being on all night for rendering the scene the bottom of it was barely hot. I highly recomend the new Intel prcossors to anybody. And data transfer rates are phenominal Well anyway so hopefully now I can start posting here somewhat regularly again. as always thanks for the FAVs and feel free to comment good or bad. Thaks for looking Chris have a great week.
