My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Cool picture. At first I thought it was CG but I had to look harder to realize that it was actualy a photograph.I like the lady in the center with the very large purple hat. Your images are very well blended together. Overall a wonderfull collection of photos. Thanks for sharing.

If I were wearing red and purple hats with clothes to match, I'd be dancin on the tables--these women don't look very happy at all. But it's a great shot, couldn't get much more colorful!!

If they are having fun...where are all the smiles? This is a great picture...you nailed the lot of them:)

Excellent! I agree with Bill - where's the smiles and laughter There's nothing - it's blah!

You caught them with their hats on... oops I think I have mixed hats with pants and on with down... Silly me... Clive

What a fun picture Tara. The most funny in it is all the serious faces :-)

My heart goes out to women constrained by things they do not seem to understand! Life at the Marriott is a life unlived. Your poem is excellent, and I commented on it there!

Fabulous, Tara!! And apart from the fact that it's so hysterically funny, it's like a Renoir to look at..very beautiful. They are trapped. It makes me wonder how many of them EVER deviate from their class norm. So sad. Brilliant work.

The Red Hat Society! Sounds like something you would only find in deepest England.... And you probably can!! Great shot.. And I saw the poem as well.. Rob

Beautifully impressionistic image.

This is wonderful - so many memories of my mother and her purple that unfortunately faded to alzheimers. And thanks for your comments about driving the North Cascades and 'avalanche' that reminds me also of several just such instances that caused the round about route clear the heck out of the way.

Wow! really wonderful shot.

This is a fun, delightful photo, Tara! It has an almost Victorian look to it - the really fancy hats and dresses, and the somewhat serious looks of the ladies. It's just great! My dad lives in on of those 'senior' apartment communities. His lady friend is in that Red Hat group, and he gets to photograph some of thier events.
