Description

My thanks to everyone who commented on my first Vue rendering two weeks ago titled 'The Saucer'. I am still playing with Vue and learning so many different ways one can crash it and my computer without meaning to. I hope to have more renderings to post in the near future. But for today, a Poser character study. I started this piece a while back; shortly after posting 'Lost In Thought'. In that rendering the Nun's character was a modified Vany (by outoftouch) using additional head morphs to make her look older and I described her as "Vany's older sister". I initially took the idea as a little silly, but then the notion of siblings for a character started to peak my curiosity. So I took the concept a step further this time by featuring Vany herself along with her older (and devout) sister watching over. And I added a younger kid sister seated beside her. Since Vany's older sister is a nun, this church setting seemed appropriate. Vany is more often depicted practicing eastern spirituality, but she still goes to church in order to please her older sister. There, more silly characterization. Have a great weekend everybody! As always, my sincere thanks to those artists who have provided free props and characters for this rendering: ape50 for the Church Bohemia 18 - 19 Century. outoftouch for Vany for V3. Ithildien for the Nun's Outfit for V3. CakeOne for the Cameo. 3dtrue for the Church Pew. geralday for the Bible props. DAZ for Victoria 3 and Nun's Hajib. Other Credits. Vany's hair is Messy Jessi hair rescaled and repositioned to fit Victoria 3. Similarly, Vany's younger sister wears Jessi UpDo hair.

Beautiful render. You have really captured the peace they must feel in church. That stained glass is beautiful. Where did you find your church?

Sometimes something really special can come from ideas we may think our silly when they start, and this is one of those Clayton. The pov as pointed out is perfect here, but what got to me most was the absolute love and passion you feel flowing forth from this one. Thank you so much for this image

The other image is nice, but I like this one a lot better. I like that the nun is gazing into space. Her expression is excellent. It's the kind of expression that all kinds of thoughts can hide behind. Perhaps she is listening to the prayer and sending her own version up to her god. Perhaps she is thinking about what supplies she needs for a catechism class. Perhaps she is just letting her mind wander or simply enjoying that her sisters are nearby. I like all the expressions. They make me think of how much of our lives are lived in our heads, mostly hidden from everyone else. In this silent moment, there is a whole lot going on behind the scenes, in the corners of each mind. Beautiful POV, lighting, and atmosphere.
