Description

As I get free time here and there I still toy with the idea of doing some serialized fiction. Despite my using digital tools, I'm of the opinion that comics should more traditional looking than not, so this image is the result of some postwork tests to try and achieve a slightly more organic look. This test scene was setup and rendered in Vue and several Photoshop tricks were employed to get the desired results. Ideally I would assemble all panels in a page or maybe even a spread and then apply the effect to all of them at once, but this one gives some idea of the results. Thanks for looking!

That's pretty! I've learned the hard way if you are doing several images on one page, do what Corbie does and use very stripped down backgrounds, because of the compression. If you do full renders ,you are best off saving them for full panels or at least a big splash image. This is nice just as an art piece!

excelent scene..still, why not do a 3d series, comic style, it does not have to have the usual inked look to make it good..as long as the layout and text are similar why not do it in your normal style. i would read it.

nice! the effect is very subtle, but keeps it from being that sort of flat 3d.

I admit, I love the look of hand drawn, hand colored illustrations. This is beautiful, nice subtle touch.
