Description

PRESERVING NATURE, CAN’T HOLD MODERN TIMES! This wetland area is called “Green Junker” (groene Jonker) and has in four years dramatically developed in a spectaculair natural habitat, under the protecting wings of Natuurmonumenten (Nature Monuments) Their aim is to improve the quality of life in the Netherlands by preserving nature, landscape and cultural history. By acquiring natural areas, the society can protect animals and plants which are native to this country and enable people to enjoy the countryside by providing footpaths, cycle paths, observation points and excursions. It breaks my heart when green space becomes a paved parking lot for yet another store; when I find broken bottles and plastic bags in the midst of a wilderness area, and when I see creeks and waterways filled with garbage. So seeing an area like this, so beautiful and protecte brings joy to my heart. A beautiful and dramatic capture!
