Description
I want to accompany this photo taken at sunset with these verses that almost all of us have had before at school.
Ed è subito sera
Da Wikipedia, l'enciclopedia libera.
Ognuno sta solo sul cuor della terra
trafitto da un raggio di sole:
ed ' subito sera.
Everyone is just the heart of the earth
pierced by a ray of sunshine:
and it is now evening.
And it is now evening is a poem by Salvatore Quasimodo, and is certainly the shortest and most famous author, written under the impulse of sudden shock, according to the criterion airtight. This work belongs to the writings of waters and lands, the poet's first collection, written in 1930 (which includes some lyrics that appeared both on Solaria and represents, together with Oboe submerged, the first phase of Quasimodo). Its structure is very brief, very intense with free verse.
Meaning of the poem
In this poem the poet has captured the three stages of human life: loneliness, derived dall'incomunicabilità , the alternation of joy and sorrow, the sense of the precariousness of life. Everyone says the poet, while living among men (the heart of the earth) feels awfully alone (due to the inability to establish a lasting relationship with someone). However, despite being alone, is stimulated by the illusion (a sunbeam), the pursuit of happiness sometimes apparent (in this case there is to say that Luigi Pirandello denies a real chance for happiness, but believes that illusions can give a little 'comfort to man). This research is both joy and pain, so the poet uses the word "pierced", that is, wounded by the same ray of sunlight. Meanwhile, as happens in the light of day soon the dark night, for man's life comes death: and it is now evening.
