Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Ferries! Cool.. Used to live near Dover Bill, very near! Ferries every 30 minutes there.. Big Ferries! When the storms came in during the Winter, they would 'park' them off the shore opposite where Deb and I lived.. Rows of them.. Often full of passengers! Great shot mate love it.. Rob

Beautiful photo with the light reflecting off the water. The yellow light on the ferry conveys a warm, cozy feeling, all too familiar to me. I can just hear the dull, distant sound of powerful diesel engines, vibrations in the deck, smell the faint odor of oil and sea, the sound of a gentle breeze. But sailing with an open maw like that - all it needs is one large wave into the front and, it's converted into a submarine (the sad risk with roll on - roll off ferries). The anniversary of the Estonia catastrophe was a few days ago - 800 people drowned in that tragedy, trapped in the capsizing ferry in a full storm on the Baltic. Your photo is so much more comfy and peaceful!

Cool! I've just got home from taking pictures of the Mersey Ferry, not as big as this but then...it doesn't carry cars.

Now, this is really cool! Excellent photo, Bill! I don't know quite what it is, but nighttime photos have always fascinated me. The lights that seem so normal and pretty much taken for granted as we hurry from one place to another seem to take on a whole new beauty when photographed. Wonderful reflections of the ferry's lights on the water, too. Awesome shot, Bill!
