Description
Could be Avalon or Fantasy Island, but definitely not Skull Island.
Captured 5/12/10, at beautiful Legg Lake in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California.
Better viewed full size.
Am practicing digifiddling with frames, which I rarely do, so please be prudent in your assessment.
Sayonara, thankx for coming on, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

I know in another version of this, you mentioned about the telephone lines & that you didn't want to take the time to remove them...well, there's no reason to: If you were doing these for a nature magazine, you would remove them as a matter of course---but then you'd be paid to remove them. Fact is, these kinds of beautiful spaces do exist in/near urban areas; and the fact of life is, they'll be intruded upon by phone lines, planes, modern cars, trucks, etc etc. And in a way, the phone lines are actually a graceful presence here, the way they swoop across the frame with the lines of the trees... The trees are caught clumped together, like a gentle 'outer gown' of the land-mass--a gown that spills right into the water's edge. And you caught the reflection beautifully too, Harry, very pure, very simple, a water-color painting on the water. And you got just the right clouds---simple sweeps of white that look like they came by just for the shot (they're perfectly matched to the piece). It just shows that you shoot many types of subjects, with many ranges...And the wide crop & simple divisions---ie, water, land, sky---is beautiful. (I like the frame, btw: It's simple & doesn't interfere with the photo...that's a successful frame!) Very sensitive work.
