Description
Captured 5/10/10, at beautiful Legg Lake in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California.
Better viewed full size.
A moderate breeze whipped up light ripples on the lake that day, so perfect mirror reflections were not on the menu for this photo shoot, but it did make for very interesting effects, especially in several of my other shots....speaking of which, I was slightly tempted to make a collage of them for today's presentation, but feel this type are better posted alone.
Auf wiedersehen, thankx for stopping by, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

Just stunning Harry! A wonderful looking place indeed.. By the way? The pub shot that seemed so empty, was taken just after opening time.. By the evening, it is a 'little more full'.. lol But not packed... Great shot mate.. Rob

I like this not only for the ripples, but for the clarity of the trees, the color of the trees (it looks like fall colors in the yellow-ish/reddish tones), and your composition. You cut the piece off at the upper portion of the trees, taking out the sky except for the background---making this about the water & trees, mostly. The bit of sky back there filters-in to remind us of the universe up there, but your composition zeroes-in on the trees & water. You've made it an intense shot, allowing the water to be the 'universe'---something I like a lot. (I know, in smaller bodies of water, how ripples can be an event, too.) Really nicely done, Harry, and I like that you included the benches on the left---they root us a bit, reminding us that people use this area as well as look at it.
