Description

The Black Bishop - Male As previously stated, I was in a quandry over the gender of the Bishops for my Chess set, so I made one of each. To (hopefully) clear up any possible confusion with regards to this. None of the four versions of the Bishop have been armed, per se, though I have seen several Chess sets where they are (depending on the genre). The two female Bishops were modeled on the idea of a Priestess architype while the males are based on the premis of a Paladin or Cleric. This, no swords. Yes, the males do have war hammers and shields, but they are leaning on the staff of office. Idealized? Yes, maybe. But, darn it, this is my Chess set and I'm just having fun. Also, for the record, and per several requests over this series, I will TRY to work something up showing the full 'set' of Chess pieces on a 'board' of some kind. Perhaps even a stratigic set up....IF it doesn't kill my system. Thanks for all the wonderful support through this series! I'm enjoying working on it and am really glad it's gone over so well! ENJOY! The King and Queen of each side will be the finals of the series. Right now just working with some ideas for the next few and just how I'm going to pull some of these off! Next: The White Pawn ~~~~ Michael 4 -- DAZ (DAZ) Matthias (character mats and facial morphs) -- Gypsyangel (RMP) Rievel Hair -- AprilYHS (DAZ) Paladin and Paragon Armor and weapons -- Luthbel (DAZ) Imperial Brotherhood - Textures for Paladin and Paragon -- Arien (DAZ) Kross Court (cross staff, archway) -- DM Productions (RMP) Base Camp 2 -- The Ant Farm (DAZ) Photo studio backdrop for MPC -- DAZ (DAZ) Pose adjustments, lighting and postwork -- Me

Outstanding work, my love. Really love these black pieces. The colors in their costumes and background really make for a more dramatic image! This one makes a great counter to his light brother.

You have an amazing concept with your series. I'll stand by to see the final post. I'm sure it's something grand.

Personally I am curious as to what you come up with for the humble pawn. I sense he may not be such a grubby bugger but I do not want to lead you astray.

lol... ok... so he's not armed, he's hammered - lol ...I didn't think Bischops got hammered - lol You know I'm playing with you Stacey - CHECKMATE! LOL I do like this, and I would play with your chess set as long as I got the black team, they look tougher - lol... one question though, do you know how to play chess? I find it relaxing and play my computer at least once a week.

Am loving the chess concept :-) have you got your chess board ready yet? what a fantastic render that would be, seeing both sides on the chess board, ready for battle!

What a great idea, to start a chess set, let your imagination be the guide... awesome result, BB

This is a cool idea, and the chess pieces were modeled after medieval warfare to begin with...for example, rooks are archers or siege engines (sometimes depicted as cannons), pawns are basic foot soldiers...
