Description

(Bug Comic) This follows "Are You Finished." After some running (and limping), 22-301 and Jorge Avila make it back to their ship.(Avila has stuffed the end of his chain into his pants band, as it was driving him nuts flapping.) As Avila climbs the ladder, 22-301 says: "I found some extra food. We'll be on half-rations for the next month for "non-participation in a military action."" Avila is momentarily horrified to see Nyelah, thinking that she was the "extra food", (though rumors of Aer eating people were greatly exaggerated), but then he sees that she is eating a sandwich and looks sleepy rather than worried. When he looks around, he sees the bag from the deli, and though he's hazy on what a deli is, he knows food loot when he sees it. 22-301 is still talking, standing at the base of the ladder unloading the charges from his gun. "I gave it some of your food."(here 22-301 sounds embarrassed--Aer own nothing, not even their clothes--but food is very personal, and fatal fights have broken out over rations.) "I wasn't sure it could digest mine. It needs a boat. We can fly it to the place where the fat deer were. There are boats there." Avila is now staring at the Minder on the floor. The Minder's opinion of them flying to the marina next to the cow pasture, west of Gresham, is unknown-- the Minder is in two large pieces and several small ones.(The heavier main section of the Minder is flopped across the equipment locker behind the door, which is why 22-301 is still in his flight suit.) "The Minder is indisposed." 22-301 pokes Avila's foot to encourage him to go the rest of the way up the ladder. Avila by now has figured out that 22-301 must have help with whatever he's up to-- Aer aren't normally mechanical; almost all the tech matters are handled by Mer. And somehow 22-301 has figured out where the flight recorder was and has pulled it out onto the floor. Avila is losing track of how many terminal offences 22-301 has already committed. __________________________________ I have to say that this is pretty confusing to look at--I thought of pulling the camera back and showing the whole ship, but it's the cockpit here that is important, not the slightly boring grasshopper/helicopter gunship. If you look closely at the opposite door on the cockpit (the other slightly-out-of-perspective oval with the ladder attached to it), you can see the section that matches Rain's sword. The Mer had shown the ladder design to the Azali as being a convenient way to reinforce the door while matching the curve of the opening, without mentioning part of it could be pulled off the ladder as a separate piece. Within easy reach of a Mer, even on a chain, with a nice Minder-cutting edge. The insurrection has already begun ..but nobody has noticed yet.

Great job Lynn and the view in the cockpit is perfect. It does appear the minder has enough troubles of his own

If there's one point in this picture that sums up your abilities, it's the chain going into his pants. There's no way to get that looking good in Poser, and you do your painting magic and make it happen. I've tried so many times to do something like that and have never been able to pull it off. You're my hero.
